We have good news: "Stärken stärken" and our former psychological practice have found a new "home". Our organisation „followyoursun“ is a future hub for Psychology/Consulting/Mindfulness as well as Sustainability. Our services are now completely flexible and digital in order to be connected with various international projects. Our "Sonnenkind"-Practice and the "Sonnenkind"-Academy are now 100% online too, in order to guarantee an available network for local mindfulness organisations.
We will report on these locations, sites and people that are connected to mindfulness projects and are „best practices“ for mindful and sustainable behavior. We cannot stress the topic sustainability enough and how sustainable and mindful behavior can work out better in the future.
Our mindful place of the week is the small canary island "La Gomera": It is a very popular destination for all who want to escape their daily lifes sinces decades now (many people from central Europe have moved there to be independent). The hereby created atmosphere is a best practice for sustainable tourism. The core of the island with its national park "Garajonay" is completely conserved and for sure one of the most beautiful hiking areas worldwide, especially the cloud forests. In the north of the island you can climb the "red slope" on steps out of volcanic stone in order to get to the national park center. Or you can do a hike around the magnificent valley of La Hermigua where you can find many local taverns that serve traditional food like watercress soup, "Bienmesabe" or sweet delights out of Gofio.
The cuisine is as traditional as the island itself. If you want your stay to be more modern, international and lively, you should choose Valle Gran Rey. There you can find yoga and therapy services at every corner, but please check out the quality of the treatment before attending the session.
The canary islands can be visited around the whole year, as there are very mild temperatures, and winter is the best season for hiking. From the locals and expats we learned that we should enjoy life instead of stressing out too much as all good things take time (even if it takes years to fix a road but at least everyone has labour) - the local philosophy is "Tranquillo".
