To the other side of the world - New Zealand

Sometimes you have to go to the other end of the world to find yourself. That's what happened to my husband and me in 2016 when we set off for New Zealand after our wedding. We "received" our mindfulness mission for the first time in a vision in the middle of nowhere. We were on a road in the jungle in the middle of the night, with no civilization anywhere in sight, and as we stared into the wilderness and saw a light from a farm, a word suddenly appeared in our minds: "mindfulness center". At the time, we didn't really know how we should understand this and, above all, implement it. Today we know that our path is more than a center, a practice or a specific project. We want to spread knowledge about mindfulness psychology worldwide and network with everyone who is a multiplier in this field. That's why we regularly present books or projects of colleagues in our field and report on places and their approach to mindfulness.

A particularly magical country for all mindfulness enthusiasts is New Zealand: It is known above all for its breathtaking nature (which is under the highest protection, so please do not import or leave anything there), the Maori culture, the active hot springs and volcanic activities and the Kiwi humor. You would actually have to spend several months there to really immerse yourself in everything, so we recommend prioritizing your visits on shorter trips.

On the North Island, the Maori towns around Rotorua and the Tongariro National Park (mountain peaks known from "Lord of the Rings") as well as the Hot Water Beach (here you can dig yourself a natural whirlpool) should be on your must-see list. Wellington is also a very nice city with a wonderful national museum (free entry).

On the South Island, you shouldn't miss a glacier tour, a trip to the Catlins National Park with the most beautiful bird songs you can imagine (the loros and all other parrot species on the island are delightful), and of course a boat trip through the impressive fjords. New Zealand is a hiking paradise and there are a wide range of hiking trails almost everywhere, so planning ahead is a key success factor for a relaxed, mindful holiday without FOMO ("fear of missing out").
