Why bodywork & mindfulness are so important and how we can overcome trauma paralysis

For many who don't work with the depths of humanity on a daily basis, it's hard to imagine how stressful this work can be. Precisely because so many people are currently pursuing a path to accompany others in their healing, it's important to also talk about the dark sides. Not to discourage others, but to prepare them for what awaits them. I can now look back on working with thousands of clients, and honestly, I couldn't perform this intensive trauma work without tools. Without bodywork, I probably would have succumbed to the severe physical and psychological stress (my stress levels were already alarming in my early 20s, followed by autoimmune diseases that led to total collapse—that's a story for another time—and this despite having lived a healthy lifestyle and sought balance since childhood). For example, I meditate daily, live mindfully, and have been practicing yoga daily for 20 years. But anyone who is confronted with so much darkness also receives the right tools. Through mindful connection, I've developed my own unique bodywork (I call it "Sundance") over the past few years, which removes toxins from the body while healing pain, inflammation, trauma, and more. Without it, I would be in constant pain and permanently exhausted.
The average time in a job like mine before experiencing the first symptoms of burnout is three years if you work full time. When you've also been exposed to extraordinary stress as a child, which applies to almost everyone in the healing sector, it can add up. Given that stressors around us have increased enormously since the pandemic, it's important to take care of your body, mind, and spirit, especially in a therapeutic and world-changing role.
That's why I was so inspired by the following story: This sea turtle, pictured below, at the Aquarium in Pula, Croatia, was rescued from the ocean after becoming entangled in plastic rings and nearly suffocating. The shock to its body was so great that it remained in a resting position for a year before beginning to move again for the first time. It still needs to get stronger, but will be released again very soon. This shows how profound trauma affects living beings and how long healing processes take. Healing isn't a one-time event; it's a lifelong journey—and for some, it takes longer than for others. Perhaps precisely because they are destined to reveal new paths that never existed before on earth.
Our practical work always focuses on the levels of body, mind, and spirit/true self. Upon request, we also create mindful daily routines that help maintain energy and move through life healthier and easier year after year. The average treatment duration is between 5 and 20 sessions, depending on the issue, and the effects are usually felt for a lifetime.
