Scotland is many things: wild and vast nature, mystical, historical, cozy and adventurous at the same time and it is very easy to travel around the highlands and beautiful outskirts (once you get used to driving left).
One of the most impressing spots is Isle of Skye: If you want to immerse yourself into old Celtic culture, the "Fairy Glen" as well as "The old man of Storr" is a must see. All around the island you will find beautiful nature that has not changed for centuries, wild waterfalls and cliffs, beaches and trails as well as cozy pubs and coffeehouses. Despite the fast changing weather, it is very family friendly and the opulant English Breakfast you find in the typical B&B accomodations lasts for a whole day.
In the main village on the island - Portree - you find lovely restaurants and if you - of course - want to visit a distillery, make sure you do not have to drive home by yourself.
